Landmark Community Bank is participating in Leadership Franklin’s Mind the Gap project which addresses the issue of hunger throughout Williamson County.

Leadership Franklin has named the project Mind the Gap, focusing on the fact that the period when schools are closed is when there’s a considerable gap in food being distributed to families in need.

One in five children and one in eight of the general population suffer from food insecurity here in Middle Tennessee. The goal of the Mind the Gap Food Drive is to at least put a dent in this problem by providing over 5,000 meals to struggling families in the Franklin and Williamson County area.

Landmark Community Bank is stepping up to support this effort by hosting two boxes for food collection at their East Main Street and Seaboard Lane locations.

“When we really learned more about the need in our community for food, we felt like this was a great project for us to participate in,” said Amy Delk, Williamson County Executive.  “At Landmark Community Bank, we always try to stay connected with the communities we serve, and this is a perfect fit for the type of community impact work we believe in supporting.”

The Mind the Gap Food Drive will take place from April 22 through May 3 at food box locations throughout Franklin, including Landmark Community Bank’s branch at 198 East Main Street in Franklin and their branch at 93 Seaboard Lane in Cool Springs. Suggested food items are peanut butter, canned chicken or tuna, pasta, spaghetti sauce, rice, canned vegetables, canned soups, canned beans, mac and cheese and cereal.
