As we continue to celebrate Preservation Month during May by looking closely at places that matter across our community and working diligently behind the scenes to save and protect them, we are also amid a fundraising campaign so that we can #KeepItGoing.

On the heels of a successful 24-hour fundraising push this week called The Big Payback, we more than doubled the amount of money we raised last year during this annual event. We have earmarked these funds to go toward producing virtual tours of some of Williamson County’s most beautiful historic places.

These virtual tours will be significant way beyond a pandemic that is preventing people from doing actual tours. We will be able to open our historic homes and restored buildings to people from all over the world. We have a team of preservationists who will narrate the tours, highlighting things that have historic importance.

It will be like your own personal guided tour complete with an unparalleled visual experience.

We continue to work on projects like these to not only preserve the history around us, but keep it alive and accessible for everyone.

And while the funds raised during The Big Payback will enable us to make some great progress with the virtual tours, we still need your help. During the month of May, all donations to the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County are being met with a 2:1 match from a group of angel donors, so there’s never been a better time to give. No dollar amount is too small, and every dollar amount is appreciated.

To help us continue to work behind the scenes to preserve and enhance the history that Williamson County has become known for, please make a tax-deductible donation today. Donations will be doubled throughout the month of May, so take advantage of being able to make the biggest impact by clicking here: williamsonheritage.org/donate.

We look forward to seeing you online for our virtual tours soon as well as in person for actual tours as soon as it is safe to do so.
