Timeless Tales: Classic Children’s Literature Read Alouds at the Moore-Morris History and Culture Center

We’re excited to introduce Timeless Tales, a new series for 1-3 year olds and their adult loved ones!

Join us on Friday, June 7th at 9:00 AM at the Moore-Morris History and Culture Center for an engaging read aloud of “The Little Red Hen” by Paul Galdone from veteran teacher, Cinda Dehner. In addition to story time, children can engage with touch, feel and wonder sensory stations featuring wheat, baby chicks, and cake slime. Attendees will also receive a take home cake-in-a-cup recipe with sprinkles!

About Cinda Dehner:
Cinda Dehner served as the Library Media Specialist at Bissell Elementary School in Twinsburg, Ohio, which is comprised of ~650 2nd and 3rd graders. Cinda has served as a Library Media Specialist and an Elementary Teacher around the country as she has lived in six different states. She holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and Child Development and a Masters in Educational Media from Purdue University. She has continued her education at Kent State University with courses in Library/Media. Cinda was awarded National Board for Professional Teacher Certification in Library/Media in 2002. She has been named a Star Educator by the Summit Education Initiative and received a TEAMS award for teacher/librarian collaboration. She serves as an educational consultant on the boards of Chagrin River Publishing and Daily Dose of Reading. Cinda has been both a participant and facilitator for Kent State’s ILILE project and has been a speaker at a variety of conferences. Cinda has been a member of OELMA and served on a variety of committees, as well as holding memberships in ALA and Ohioana Library Council. Cinda contributed to the Elementary School Science in the World Room.
