Timeless Tales: A Classic Children's Literature Read Aloud

Join us at the Moore-Morris History and Culture Center for a magical journey through the world of classic children's literature. This enchanting series is designed for children aged 1-3 and their adult loved ones. Each read aloud is followed by a hands-on activity from sensory bins, retelling activities, and crafts Connect with other families in the community and create lasting memories!

JANUARY:
  • VIRTUAL (due to inclement weather): "The Snowy Day" (1962) by Ezra Jack Keats

    "The Snowy Day" is a heartwarming story about a young boy named Peter who explores and delights in the simple joys of a snowy day in his  neighborhood.

    Sequencing Activity can be found HERE!

    1. Print sequencing cards 
    2. Cut each card out 
    3. Retell the story of “The Snowy Day” together and place the scenes in the correct order

    The Snowy Day Craft can be found HERE!

    1. Print the pictures of Peter and color. 
    2. Cut out Peter and set him to the side. 
    3. Make “Snow Paint”:
      a. 1/2 cup Shaving Cream
      b. 1/2 cup Glue 
    4. Create a snowy day on a separate sheet of paper using your “snow.” 
    5. Glue the cut out of Peter in the snow.
