Join us in Celebrating National Preservation Month

Throughout May, we are encouraging locals and visitors to learn more about the importance of preservation, and what Williamson County has to offer. Events will range from Town Hall discussions to tours of historical landmarks, below is a list of what to expect with more details to come:

Sites To Save 2024 Announcement

May 8

The Heritage Foundation is excited to announce that we have compiled our fourth annual Sites to Save list, which seeks to identify historic places in Williamson County that are vulnerable to demolition, development, or neglect.

#FindYourPlace Drawing Contest

May 10

Join our ongoing social media challenge #FindYourPlace! We hope to encourage the community to get out in Williamson County, take a closer look at the picturesque buildings and landscapes throughout the community, and share on social media. The #FindYourPlace drawing contest will encourage children to express their creativity and showcase what they love about the community.

Preservation Easement Program

The Preservation Easement Program allows for residents to collaborate with the Heritage Foundation and take preservation into their own hands to protect what matters to their communities.

Warwick Lecture Series: The History and Legacy of Poynor Chairs

Join us as Williamson County historian Rick Warwick dives deeper into the history of the historic Poynor Chairs.

Preservation Research Resources and Advocacy Tools Launch

May 20

We will be launching a new set of resources and tools in order to better serve the community and equip preservation-minded individuals to take an active role in this important work.

4th Annual Summer Educator Institute

The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County is proud to offer its FREE Summer Educator Institute, an immersive, experiential professional development program, designed to provide social studies teachers an opportunity to engage with scholars in research, critical analysis, and study at the Heritage Foundation.
