Dark Horse Institute and the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County Announce Battle of the Bands Competition

Dark Horse Institute and the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County are pleased to announce the first annual Battle of the Bands at this year’s Main Street Festival presented by First Tennessee Bank, in Franklin, Tennessee, to be held from Noon until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2018.

 

As part of the fun-filled weekend of music, arts and crafts, food and children’s activities, the expected crowd of more than 100,000 will enjoy performances by the best high school-aged contemporary musicians in Williamson County as they compete for more than $10,000.00 in prizes.

The competition is open to all high school students who are currently enrolled in Williamson County public, private, or registered home school programs. Entrants are required to submit a two-song demo recording or video of either original or cover songs to the Battle of the Bands website no later than Midnight, Sunday, April 8, 2018.

 

Nine finalists will be chosen to perform at the Main Street Festival on Sunday, April 29, 3 each in the categories of Soloist, Small Group, and Full Band. Each category winner will receive a prize package and the Grand Prize winner will receive awards worth more than $10,000, including recording sessions at world-famous Dark Horse Recording and scholarships to study either audio engineering or the music business at Dark Horse Institute.
