Practical Preservation Series: “Hospitality and History – Main Street Built on a Sense of Place”

May 19, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

UPDATE: Due to great interest in this event, we have reached capacity for our in-person event. We will be offering a free Zoom livestream, however. Please RSVP below to the Zoom option to receive specific login information the day of the event.

Our new three-part series, Practical Preservation, was developed for historical homeowners and preservation enthusiasts in mind to offer practical applications to historical home maintenance. Join us at the LeHew Magid Big House (Old, Old Jail) on Thursday, May 19 at 6 p.m. to learn about “Hospitality and History – Main Street Built on a Sense of Place.”

During National Preservation Month, we are hosting our Practical Preservation Series, featuring Nancy Willliams, Executive Director of Tennessee’s Main Street Program, will speak on the Hospitality and History of Main Streets of Tennessee. Franklin’s historic Main Street is one of the best known in America. But it wasn’t always this way. Local and state preservationists worked tirelessly advocating for saving Main Street. During her presentation, Williams will share her experiences as a Main Street Director, as well as best practices for communities to learn more about the ins and outs of what it takes to preserve historic Main Street communities!

Attendees are encouraged to register early. RSVP below:
